Ansel Adams is a very successful photographer although he was not to great at school. He had to have private tutors because of his bad behavior. Ansel Adams wasn't just a photographer he worked at the sierra club as a keeper of the club's Leconte memorial lodge Yosemite national park, he spent four summers there. While he was there he took a picture called Monolith, the face of half dome. He published this picture in 1927, the picture is over 75 years old and still looks new. But Before he started photography he was slated to be a pianist. At the age of 12 he taught himself to read music and play the piano. When he began his photography career he started off selling snap shots of the Yosemite national park. At age 16 he got his first camera, a Kodak box brownie. he joined the sierra club in 1919. I chose this picture because it show great contrast between the clouds and the snow on the ground popping out because of the dark mountain. Also I like how you can see the light coming through the clouds on to the mountain.
